This time I kept the flashlight trained on the floor. So I left the secret door to my room open (just in case), and stepped back into the passage. I was startled but immediately decided I wanted to explore the passage again more carefully. The end of the passage was between my room and Mom’s. When I reached the bottom, I examined the floor. I backed down it carefully, holding the flashlight in my left hand. Don't get me wrong, they are fantastic novels for kids, but over the years, my reading preferences have changed, so I gave all the volumes to the Salvation Army.I shined the light down the hole.
